Online Hangouts for Teens

Teen Group Hangouts

Hangouts are designed to support young people affected by childhood cancer or blood disorders. Our virtual groups for teens provide ongoing, low-pressure social connection with trusted adults and other teens who know what it's like. Join for however long feels good, from your bed, couch, backyard, or wherever you are! Use your phone, tablet, or laptop to connect with the group. Whether you're a gamer or a movie buff, try out the Hangout that suits you!

Teens' Social

Thursdays 6:30 to 7:30 PM  |  Ages 13+

The Teens Social is a small group, anywhere from one to five people each week, where we share our interests with each other and plan Hangout activities based on those. 

Previous activities have included: doing homework together; chatting about favourite movies; painting together; playing Kahoot games; talking about life in all its wildness; and online escape rooms. 

We are always open to new interests and activities to do on Zoom.

 

Gamers' Group

Fridays 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM  |  Ages 12+

Like to game? Join us on Friday evenings for a video gaming Hangout. We use Discord to communicate with each other, and the channel stays open throughout the week. We encourage teens to stay connected throughout the week and our Host facilitates programming on Friday. It’s a collaborative group, so come share what games you love to play!

Current Games include: Minecraft, Fortnite, Roblox, Among Us, Gartic Phone, Code Names

Devices needed for games: PC, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Smart phone. If someone joins that doesn't have the right device for a certain game, we just pick one that works for everyone.

Platform for communication: Discord (private closed channel)
