Online Hangouts

Group hangouts for children 4-12 years old

Hangouts provide ongoing, low-pressure social connection and build trusted relationships to support children through a challenging time. Whether on treatment or off, patient or sibling, feeling full of beans or a little bit low, your Hangout Buddy will provide the space and interaction that meets your needs that week. In the group, it's always ok to talk about cancer and blood disorders, but it's also ok not to talk about it.

 

Join in from your phone, tablet, or laptop. You can be in bed, on your couch, in your backyard...and stay for as long as you like. Your trained Hangout Buddies plan activities throughout the year that fit with your interests and they are always so excited to see you at the next Hangout!

Hangouts connect you with your trained Hangout Buddies and with other kids, exploring your passions, and sharing your interests with each other. Anywhere from one to four kids can be in a group together. We use breakout rooms to make sure programming is age-appropriate for everyone. Your Hangout Buddies love to keep checking in with you to build a friendship that helps you celebrate all the good moments together and manage the tougher times. 

 

No matter where you are or how you are feeling, we will be here on Zoom for you and tailor the time to the kids who show up.

 

Favourite activities of 4-7 year-olds: Scavenger hunts, freeze dance, guess the sound on YouTube, kid yoga, charades, drawing games, story time

Favourite activities of 8-12 year-olds: Arts and crafts, Kahoot games, trivia games, guessing games, dance parties

Age 4-12 Group

Wednesdays 5:30 PM to 6:15 PM

Join us for scavenger hunts, dance parties, and much more. Activities will be led by participants interests and ages.
