Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Blog

September is here and so is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This is a whole month specifically focused on raising awareness and on raising support for families affected by childhood cancer.

Did you know? The idea of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month was introduced way back in 1990, and President Barack Obama officially recognized it in 2012. In the ten years since then, it’s become a global movement.

Many organizations who mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month are dedicated to better understanding childhood cancer and developing better treatments. While this vital work happens, WCK continues to provide practical, everyday support to children and families across B.C. who are on this journey.

Did you know? Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is represented by a gold ribbon and the #CCAM hashtag.

Throughout September, look out for information from us about childhood cancer in B.C. and the impact our programs are making, as well as personal stories and firsthand insights from our WCK families. We have so much to share with you, and we would love for you to share it further!

Through raising awareness, talking more about childhood cancer, and doing small actions together, we can make a difference for so many families.
